The Mission of the Library is:

To provide integrated resources and services to support the research, teaching and learning of the university community To comply with this Mission, the Library commits to:

  • Support the research, teaching and learning of its users;
  • Create sets of materials that directly support research, teaching and learning;
  • Provide remote access to vast collections of electronic books and magazines;
  • Guarantee permanent availability of Library resources, sets and facilities;
  • Create a friendly physical environment for study and collaborative work;

Facilities

  • The Library displays an adequate distribution of all its sets, which allows an easy location and retrieval of information. For this purpose, it uses the Library of Congress classification schema to organize the books in the shelves.
  • The Library licenses the photocopy service to ensure quality and competitive prices. Each semester this service is evaluated in the Opinion Survey on Institutional Services. It shall be noted that the University possesses a Licence from the Mexican Center of Protection and Promotion of Copyright (CEMPRO) that covers legal photocopy of the materials.
  • The Library has five study cubicles for collaborative work, equipped with a whiteboard and wireless Internet access. Likewise, it has 27 personal cubicles in the second floor and 14 personal cubicles in the Newspaper Library. The Room  to teach Workshops on the library is located in the latter.
  • Through the Newspaper Library, an automated query service on electronic magazines and books is provided. Service by the librarians is personalized and adapted to the requirements of the users.
  • The Library has 126 places arranged between its two floors, which is 15% of all students.
  • The Library has adequate artificial lighting in all its areas, and also has natural light in the first-floor Querying area, in the personal Reading Hall in the second floor and in the Newspaper Library. The Library has adequate natural air circulation in its two floors, which contributes to an adequate study environment.
  • The Library has ideal conditions to carry out reading and studying tasks in a peaceful and quiet environment.
  • The Library has adequate furniture to keep its sets and allow easy querying. Likewise, group and personal tables, as well as chairs and armchairs provide a comfortable space for the users.
  • The 12 computers available to the users have access to the online catalogue and to electronic magazine and book databases.
