This course introduces students to the art of film analysis through the screening and discussion of internationally acclaimed films. Emphasizing cinema as both an artistic and collective experience, the course explores how filmmakers use image, sound, editing, performance, and visual composition to construct meaning and emotional impact. Through guided discussions in English, participants will develop practical tools for understanding cinematic language, directorial style, narrative structure, and historical context. Special attention will be given to the relationship between form and theme, as well as the experience of watching films communally on the big screen.

The course is designed for cinephiles, students, creatives, expatriates, digital nomads, and anyone interested in deepening their engagement with cinema. No prior academic background in film studies is required.

Este curso introduce a los estudiantes al arte del análisis cinematográfico a través de la proyección y discusión de películas aclamadas internacionalmente. Haciendo hincapié en el cine como una experiencia artística y colectiva, el curso explora cómo los cineastas utilizan la imagen, el sonido, el montaje, la interpretación y la composición visual para construir significado e impacto emocional. A través de discusiones guiadas en inglés, los participantes desarrollarán herramientas prácticas para comprender el lenguaje cinematográfico, el estilo de dirección, la estructura narrativa y el contexto histórico. Se prestará especial atención a la relación entre forma y tema, así como a la experiencia de ver películas en comunidad en la pantalla grande.
